I am a UK cit, my BF is a US cit, we want to move to the UK

I am British, my boyfriend is American and we live in the US but we want to move to the UK. We plan to marry anyhow but at this point
we cannot figure out if we should either; get married in the US, go as fiancees, go unmarried and get married there.
Does anyone have any advice for us?

Get married in USA. One less visa required and a marriage visa is always stronger case than a fiance one.
