traveling on new passport / visa in old passport

Hi All,

I have a quick question and suspect I know the answer, but I'm asking anyway...

I am a US citizen on a 2-yr spouse visa (valid until 28 April 2008). The visa is stamped in my recently canceled passport with my maiden name. In preparation for ILR, I just got a new US passport with my married name.

Can I travel in the next few months if I carry both passports and my marriage certificate, or will I get in trouble when trying to re-enter the UK?

I suspect that I *should* transfer the spouse visa to my new passport, then apply for ILR, but I really don't want to go to all that trouble and expense just for a few months. I'm not planning to travel before I get ILR, but I would like to know my options just in case, especially since my work often sends me abroad.

Yes you can travel , your passport is cancel but not the Visa. you can travel nut you have to carry both the passport. I am in same situation and i have to carry both the passport.
