T2 ICT to T2 Gen

My visa history as below

WP T2 - Jul 2008 to Jul 2010
T2 Extension - Jul 2010 to Jul 2011
T2ICT Long Term Staff Migrant - Jul 2011 to till date

If i get a new sponsor can i switch to T2 Gen?

But i got an advice from solicitor that i can switch going outside UK without cool off.

Well, the solicitor is wrong...

"Eligibility

You must already be in the UK under any of the following visas or schemes:

Tier 2 (Intra company Transfer: established staff) visa and you’re applying to change sponsor
Tier 2 (Intra company Transfer) visa under the Immigration Rules in place before 6 April 2010 and you’re applying to change sponsor"
