Evidence of family ties for parents visitors visa

Post by Guru6170 » Sat Mar 12, 2016 10:23 pm

Hi All,

I am going to invite my mother (67yrs old) from India for few months on a family visitor visa. She is a non working widow and I financially support her.

She lives in our joint family house which is not on her name- it's on my Uncle's name. Our all other properties are on my name and she has nothing on her own name.

She is a genuine visitor as she wouldn't stay in here for more than 3 months .

I am struggling to come up with a evidence to show to home office that she has family ties in India. I was going to get some FDs done on her name but after reading some of the posts on this forum I understand that they will not consider FDs.

I have sisters in India but I guess only the emotional ties would not be good.

Can someone please give some suggestions?

I am now thinking to buy a property on her name but is this the only option? Can I show that she looks after our farms and would be keen to go back.

Thanks in advance.

It would help if your mother lives with one of your sister and have grandkids. If this is the case, you can get a letter from your sister and other family members to say that your mum live with them and have other family members that she visits often and she will return after the visit. Financial is just one aspect, but if she has strong family ties in India, and being sponsored by someone else, sound financial is not a major factor. In any case, you include any bank statement (regardless of balance) your mother has in her name.
