Vander Elsen Vasa ??

Post by maxos » Wed Dec 12, 2007 5:52 am

Good afternoon.
Our company has a problem: the company has registration on territories EU, workers are EU and non-EU, there is a necessity to send them in business trip. With citizens EU there are no problems, and here with non-EU (have the sanction to work and temporary residence permit) there was a necessity of reception Vander Elsen Vasa.
There can be who that knows:
1. What countries demand Vander Elsen Vasa
2. What countries do not demand
3. And how to act with the countries not accepting Vander Elsen Vasa
4. Who has experience of reception and what problems were.

I shall be grateful for any information.

As a Moderator here I have checked your IP address and can see that your country is in the EU and is just about to join the Schengen area.

So surely once that comes into effect there will not be a problem the people working in any other Schengen area country for a short while.

Which just leaves you with the UK and Ireland, which are part of the EU but not part of the Schengen area.

its name is Van der Elst. Germany and netherlands recognize. It evolved from a situation in France so France does too but they seem to be encompassing it in its secondment rules. In any case, normally you need to have been with the company for 6 months to a year in order for the company to send you to an assignment other than where you are based. Most of the other EU countries are ignoring the ruling so you can try to lodge a request to work under secondment but probably will be told you need to get a separate work permit anyway.

I would like to specify: our company works in shipbuilding and we wish to take orders for performance of works on ship-building shipyards in the Europe. Term of business trip of workers does not exceed 90 day. I so think that Vander Elst Visa, will be necessary even after the introduction in Schengen area. Here for example France, we have offers of work (the preliminary contract) term of 80 day. Whether it is necessary for us after the introduction of our country in Schengen area to address for this visa???
