What type of visa do I need to apply for?

Post by quinto » Mon Mar 21, 2016 7:43 pm

Hello,

I lived in the UK for 7 years, was a student for 5 and worked for 2, under a Tier 4 visa. I then moved back home in 2013 but carried on working for the company in UK and still work for them as a contractor / freelancer. They pay my salary into my personal bank account here.

I have not returned to the UK since 2013, but want to this July / August to visit family for 3 - 4 weeks. The company I worked for and my family stay in the same city in the UK so it only makes sense for me to meet my colleagues and perhaps get some informal training in my field of expertise.

So my question is, what kind of visa should I apply for? Should it just be the general 6 month visa or another kind? My main worry is that since I work for a company in the UK from abroad, the immigration office might think I am applying for a general visa but my real intention is to move back to work / settle, which obviously is not my intention at all, I am happily settled back home.

Thanks in advance
