What should be visa category for Job Code 2136, from outside

Hello, Greetings!

I am confused with VISA category that I should select while applying for VISA from outside UK.

My employer shared CoS under Tier 2 (General - New hires - restricted) with job code 2136 Programmers and software development professionals and RLMT is executed by employer.

To enter to UK will the VISA category be Tier 2 General Shortage occupation or just Tier 2 General.

I am confused as job code 2136 present in Shortage occupation list.

Thank you Ravi for your reply. Just to be clear on this, I would like to know why will it be tier 2 general and not shortage occupation. I am making this point as the job code is in shortage occupation list.

Yes, you are correct. It comes under shortage occupation list (SOL) as well.
But as your employer carried out RLMT, so i think it does not come under SOL.

Some people get confused here.

When you see an SOC Code in shortage occupation that doesnot means all jobs in that SOC will be in shortage.

If you read second column if specifically tells what is in shortage

My friend is a gaming developer with 2136 and is in shortage other is just a developer and is not shortage

The job descrption need to match at least( partially at least) and if title matches that is perfect.

If you are doing this to be saved from 35000 ilr threshold or RLMT then good luck and if you salary is already good dont bother for shortage because they take more time to process those based on what i have heard
