points based system urgent replies needed

can anyone tell me that the new points based system that they are going to introduce to the uk does it relate to anyone applying for a spousal visa for there husband or wife to come to the uk from overseas. or is the points based system just aimed at people who want to come and work and study in the uk as doctors or nurses and jobs like that..

The points based system does not relate to spouse visas for people to join a British or settled person in the UK.

There are possible changes coming for spouse visas though. This could be raising the minumum age to 21 and needing proof of English language at an earlier stage.
