Criminal Charges - Visitor Visa

Post by user105 » Sun Apr 03, 2016 12:59 pm

I hold a 10-year UK visitor visa issued in 2013 and have traveled to the UK extensively over the past 30+ years.

Last year, I was unfortunately involved via my work with a situation that escalated into a major criminal prosecution. I was initially charged with drug smuggling (death penalty offense in the jurisdiction of offense) and spent some time in pre-trial detention before being granted bail and subsequently all charges against me were dropped.

I have no criminal record as a result of this. Do I still need to notify the local British Embassy of these charges and their dismissal before I travel to the UK next?
