Applying in UK First British Passport for Child in India

HI All

My daughter was born in August 2015, 3 months before i was eligible for ILR, I had to travel to India in January 2016 to attend my brothers marriage. So we have decided to get her Indian passport so that my daughter can travel to India

Me & My wife both have got ILR in October and we immediately applied for my daughters citizenship through registration hoping we will get the certificate before Jan. I didn't apply for ILR for my daughter to save £1900

We had to travel to India in January to attend my brothers marriage, we just used my daughters Indian passport to take her to India

I am back in UK now (my wife and daughter are in India) and collected my daughters citizenship certificate. After i came here i found out that we have to send all the uncancelled passports to make British passport application

If i can get my daughters passport with my friend who is travelling to UK next week, can i apply for her First British passport in her absence in UK?

I also found that we can make British passport application in India but it is taking 6-7 months, it is long time to be away from my one year old daughter
