Technology Entrepreneur. Please help!

Post by Ali272 » Mon Apr 11, 2016 12:08 am

The only part of genuine test that I am worried about is below:

It says in the guidance that "where you have already registered in the UK as self-employed or as the director of a business, and the nature of the business requires mandatory accreditation, registration and/or insurance, whether that accreditation, registration and/or insurance has been obtained"

How do I know whether I need to register with a regulator or to be accredited? I am running a data proving company and will soon expands to gaming apps on smart phones. I am currently on Tier 1 Graduate Entrepreneur and plan to switch in 5 months.

Do I need to have any insurance or to register with anybody? Please help, This is my only worry.

Thanks.

HO has the right to ask you to provide extra documents if the industry you are working in requires mandatory certification, accreditation or required insurance certificates. For example if you are an immigration adviser you need a license, if you are a builder you need to have proper insurance, when you employ people you MUST have employer's liability insurance, if you store people's personal information you need to be registered with ICO, ...etc.
It is your responsibility to understand and apply for any of the certificates or mandatory insurance required by the law.
