Is TB testing required for long term visitor visa?

Hi,

I am preparing a long term (2 or 5 years) visitor visa application. Do they need to be tested for TB?

The guidelines say that if you are coming to the UK for more than 6 months and are resident in a country like India where TB testing is required then you need to have TB test.

Though they will not stay here in UK for more than 6 months in one visit, they could visit us any time over the 2 year period.

Will they need a TB test to apply for the long term visa?

Sorry this may not be clear in my initial message but the visa application is for my parents who live in India.
