Need your help please!!

Hi,

I am planning to apply for HSMP and after gathering all the info regarding points and other stuff, I have ended up in a difficult situation. Here it goes,

I was working with an IT company till October 20th 2007 and then joined an another one. During my tenure with the first company I was in UK on a work permit from June 2005 to July 2007. My annual salary while at UK was just above GBP 20000(after tax). We even doesn't have the tax submission proofs in UK as company used to take care of that.

Now, I understand that to apply for a HSMP, I have to show the earnings for a period of 12 months, during the last 15 months. I am in a dilemma as which salary I have to show!!

My anual salaries are something like this in GBP over the past 15 months:

Oct 2006 to June 2007: GBP 20,000 (after tax In UK)
July 2007 to Oct 2007: GBP 4500 (before tax, In India)
Nov 2007 to Dec 2007 : GBP 6500 (before tax, In India)

I hope I explained in detail:).

Any suggestions as how can I show my earnings for HSMP?

Any help is very much appreciated!

cheers,
SH

Hiya,

If you apply now, you would essentially have lived 6 months in the UK and 6 in India. You then have the option of showing either income, each pro-rated to 12 months. (Normally, the HO will calculate income earned in each country separately, pro-rate that to 12 months separately and award points on the income that is most beneficial to your case).

You will however require your UK payslips (along with your India payslips) when you apply, though you may not require your UK IT return.

Explain your situation in the application form, so the caseworker knows what to expect.

Cheers.
