Claiming JSA - affect husband's ILR?

Post by Stonewarm » Wed Jan 02, 2008 10:40 pm

Hello all,

I'm new to posting here but I have used the forum to gain useful info in the past.

Here is my question (I have searched to see if I can find an answer on the subject but have failed to find anything) - My husband is an Indian National, and I am British. My husband holds a British Residency Permit which will run out in 2009, before which he will apply for ILR. Now, I wanted to apply for Jobseeker's allowance. But, I have been told that if I claim this, that it will affect negatively on our case when we apply for ILR for my husband. Is this true? Will they look at benefits I have claimed in a negative light?

Any information would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you.

You can claim these benefits without it having a negative affect on any future immigration claim your husband may have.
