Indian passport-extended booklet-UKvisa-ECNR

My wife has an indian passport. She got the spouse name added on her passport and she was given an extended booklet. With regards to that I have two queries

1 She is having ECNR on her original passport does she have to get ECNR on her extended booklet as well.
2. She got a British Visa that is endorsed on her original passport and the passport number written on the visa is of the extended booklet.So is this correct

"Emigration check not required" - it's an endorsement in an Indian passport indicating that the holder doesn't need permission at the point of exit to leave India. So that part of the question is really a matter of Indian law and practice, not British.

In other words an "exit visa" essentially. It's a little known fact that Indian citizens require permission to leave their own country!
In a few years time we'll look back on immigration control like we look back on American prohibition in the thirties - futile and counter-productive.

HI,

Now it is no longer require to have ECNR as the law has been changed ( previously also for comman wealth countries ECNR was not required. It is allright to have a Visa in the old passport as Visa has not been cancelled. i have the same case and have to carry both my old and new passport together when i am travelling. It is also mentioned in the FAQ s of hcilondon. hope this helps.
