Advice on ILR form

Post by Emma84 » Mon Jan 07, 2008 10:05 am

My ILR application is for an unmarried partner visa and I have seen several recommendations from various sources (including the HO itself) that I should write a statement to the effect that I intend to continue living permanently with my fiance. I have no idea what they expect to be written in a statement like this, so any advice is appreciated.

Btw, my application appointment is 28th January.

I would advise reading the guidance notes and supplying only the evidence listed in the guidance notes for your type of ILR application. No more, no less.
In a few years time we'll look back on immigration control like we look back on American prohibition in the thirties - futile and counter-productive.

That's not what I asked. I have read the guidance notes on the form, but the HO themselves recommended writing a statement in my letter when they approved my FLR form and I quote: "Shortly before the date stated above, you may apply for the time limit attached to your stay in this country to be removed;....... For this application to be granted, we will need to be satisfied that you both still intend living permanently with each other. If you provide a statement to this effect, signed by you both, this will assist us in considering the application."

All I want to know is what kind of things to put in such a statement.[/i]

I would just write up to permanently, the foreseeable sounds like your hedging imho

I'm agreeing with you, man. There is no point in hedging as it's your intention at the moment of applying that counts, not what happens afterwards.
