Having an Aunt in the UK. Will it help?

Post by Tadeh » Tue Jan 08, 2008 11:15 am

Hi, I have an aunt living in London for like 30 years now.She is a British citizen. Are there any possible ways in which she can help me to immigrate to UK as a family member?
Thank you

There's little to no chance of your aunt sponsoring you to live in the UK. Migration for family members is only possible for direct relatives, e.g. children, spouses/partners, and elderly parents. Only in very exceptional circumstances (e.g. you are severly disabled and all alone) will non-immediate relatives be allowed. She can sponsor you if you want to enter as a student, e.g. by paying your fees, but she will have to show proof of finances.

What is your current age/status? Why not try another visa route, such as employment?

Dont think it might possible. I agree with sakura. If u can proof u are totally depending on ur aunt (u are disable)and u dont have anyone who is going to take care of u at ur current country.

There is a few ways u can do. Maybe u can try student visa. Its not too difficult if u compare with work visa. Work visa require lots of things and most difficult is to find an employer to sponsor u.
