How to lodge an appeal

Post by mihir » Wed Apr 07, 2004 7:45 am

My HSMP application has been declined.
Can anyone tell me what is the procedure to lodge an appeal against this decision. Where the relevant form would be available?
When i lodge my application i was below 28, but now i have just crossed the age of 28. Does this affect the appeal?

HSMP should have explained why you were declined and the procedures for an appeal.

Before you can appeal successfully you need to know why you were rejected. Unless they made a mistake or they overlooked a key piece of documentation, it is unlikely that your appeal will be reversed.

mihir

Those are the numbers I have. BTW, the customer relations number is 0114 259 4074.

They didn't send you a letter explaining why you were declined? I'm surprised because you should have received a written explanation. If you received something, let us know what they said so we can try to help.

Thanks again Joseph for your prompt reply.

I did receive a letter from HSMP wherein they mentioned the following
Points for Age - 5
Qualification - 25
But HSMP said that they are not satisfied that out of four years of experience i have 2 years of experience at a Graduate level whereas remaining two years is not a graduate level.

I never expected this as all of my experience id after completing graduation, and a part of it is after completing Post Graduation.

Could you tell me what is Graduate level exprience and what is post Graduate level Experience?

Dear Mihir

I think before applying you should once agian consider where exactly you went wrong and where you can gain points before you apply
It looks like that you do not have sufficient points

first try to think how you can improve points
if you are not married you have a chance of 10 points you first marry

try to see if you have any thing in significant achievement without this there is no way that you can appeal and get sucess
review is just waste of time

Give more details like where exact points you are getting what what did you say to prove that you can continue your career in U.k

also tell us when u applied what you received HSMP rejection letter and your country .

I will try to ask these points to any consultant and give you proper reply .

Hi Dino,

Thanks for your reply.

I am not married, but i am getting married soon. As per the HSMP rules i cannot claim points if marriage is less than two years old. Is it right?

Also i donot have any significant achievement.

Is it possible that i challenge HSMP's decision on my file? ( I believe i have sufficient documents to prove this. If yes then will my age be considered as below 28. Now i am 28+ but when i had lodged the previous application i was below 28.

I had put around 50 job advertisements related to my field (Admin.) to prove that i can continue my career i UK

I claimed points for following:
Age:05, Qualification 25: M.B.A. from University of Mumbai - India,
Work: 50 - 4 years of experience including one year at senior level ( even if they award 35 for this i.e. 4 yrs graduate level then also i should qualify, but they didnn't.)

My application was received on 5th January and i received rejection letter on 2nd April.

Please advise me about the various plan of action that i can take

I will try to ask these points to any consultant and give you proper reply .

Hello,

I don't see how you are claiming 50 points if you are showing "admin" as your work. For 50 points one has to demonstrate really specialist and/or senior work experience...
