I applied 06th June 2016 (5 years EU stamp 4 basis). I got combined 1st and 2nd stage letter last Friday 01st of July 2016- well the letter stated that my application has been initially assessed and has proceeded to the second stage of processing (they sent me the receipt too) and that they will forward to the minister for a decision once they compile all the required documents.
I do have a traffic conviction by the way (went to court and all) but I stated it upfront on the application and also wrote a remorseful letter. I'm just glad at least for now they haven't deferred my application or told me to apply at a later date etc.
Now the waiting game begins!!!

Your application continues to be processed. While it is not possible to

It does not look likely that you will be invited to attend the ceremony on

Hi everyone,

Tried e-mailing and calling (no reply) the Citizenship Division, but the only reply I got is to my e-mail saying they acknowledge my request and forwarded my question to relevant department. No reply since.

The approval letter I received last week has my maiden name, I have already informed in due course before my approval that my new passport has both my maiden and married name together. I'm trying to find out if it this will be a problem as the letter says the citizenship certificate would be for my maiden name.

Any thoughts? Should I go ahead and send my documents? My new GNIB card renewed early June also has both my maiden and married names. I had sent a copy to citizenship e-mail and its receipt was acknowledged.

Do you think the additional last name would cause a problem? I tried calling them but nobody picks up the line.

Thank you!

Hi,

this is strange and frustrating that you have been waiting for su treaty rights decision for over 10 months now.... was your wife self employed for complete 5 years or was there any gap... i seen on this forum someone got EU PR approval after 3 months...

and i am sure naturalization applications of EU spouse's are directly related to their PR status now.... i have seen some cases where people had PR and applied Citizenship they were approved within few months and people without PR/pending PR have been waiting for long.

After that i did not got any letter from them.

And last week I send them email for update my applications

Yes, Eu Treaty Right Section taking too long for decisions. Everytime i email them, they have same answer that there is delay because of backlog. I guess, maybe it is because since last year there is a flood of people coming from England and thousands of them have applied stamps under Eu Treaty Right.

My wife was continuously self employed for last 5 years and now she is working part time at the moment. We are living together since we are married and have 3 children. Still i dont know why it taking them so long to decide my case. I hope, i will hear from them in next week or so...

I think you are right, they have linked citizenship with PR. Anyways, I will not be selected for this ceremony and hopefully i will hear something from Eu Treaty Right before next ceremony.

I applied in May on 3 years marriage living in Northern Ireland.

So I got a refusal letter today. I had taken 6 months out to China to give birth to our son and also I was on a post-study visa from 2011-2013 when I got married in March 2013 and upgraded to spouse visa.

The wording in my letter is strange says:

For the purposed of calculating this residency, no period may be taken into account where a non-national was required to have permission to remain from the UKBA if resident in Northern Ireland but did not have that permission.

But i did have permission to live in Northern Ireland! Or else the British wouldn't let me live here or even get into the country! Really frustrating....

Every time they ask you for a document, your application is moved back, if u have no crime , I would say everything is OK, the people who process the application are just slow and couldn't be bothered..........

does anybody know, what should I do in the following case:
an approval letter is received, GNIB is sent with bank draft for €950
the GNIB is due to expire before 19th September

Do I need to go to INIS and get a new stamp in passport?
