No. But you can use the WP as a Schengen visa for visits.slashed wrote:Hello,
If I am holding a work permit for one member state am I than allowed to work in another member state, considering that both are schengen members.
Example: I hold a work permit for Germany and want to work in France, is that allowed?

Frank
Unfortunately that's what I expected. In case I have an unmarried partner who is EU national, the only option would be to apply for a work permit on that basis? Does France do this? How do one prove that one lives together for two years? No. But you can use the WP as a Schengen visa for visits.
No that is not true. http://www.siseministeerium.ee/?id=25442&Wanderer wrote:No. But you can use the WP as a Schengen visa for visits.slashed wrote:Hello,

Ok, thanks for the answer.
SYH I'm not sure what you're talking about but if you have a work permit issued by a Schengen country, you will most likely have a residence permit issued by a Schengen country and therefore NOT need a visa to travel within the Schengen zone regardless of nationality - as the link above explains.SYH wrote:No that is not true. http://www.siseministeerium.ee/?id=25442&Wanderer wrote:No. But you can use the WP as a Schengen visa for visits.slashed wrote:Hello,

If permanent residents need visa so do those with limited leave.
You don't need Schengen if you didn't need it due to your nationality.
Let me clarify. Typically you should have a resident permit with your work permit, however many systems allow a person to start working before obtaining the resident permit. Thus if we are solely talking about when one has possession of a resident permit from one Schnegen country, then yes one can travel in schengen for up to 3 months if the resident permit is valid for more than 3 months. After that, you need another Schengen visa visits of more than 3 months outside the country that provided your resident permit would indicate you might be trying to reside in another Schnegen country.joesoap101 wrote:
