Travel to USA, GC holder residing in UK now

Travel to USA, GC holder residing in UK now

I have a US Green Card that was issued in June of 2007. In July, I left and have moved to the UK where I am now residing.

I want to visit the US for a vacation - I realise that me being a GC holder, that the immigration authorites may revoke it due to the fact that I no longer live there and would be going to Orlando for 2 weeks with a return plane ticket (which I have already purchased!)

Do I enter and forego my GC? Or go as a vistor? But I'm sure they'd know I was in possession of a GC.

Help! Now im confused. I do have a bank account that is still active in the US but I have no job there. I have not been back since leaving in July 2007.

Hi, the important question is: do you want to retain your green card, or are you happy to relinquish it?

Quite simply you need to get your priorities straight. You cant have your cake and eat it. If the immigration officers realise that you live in the UK they can and probably will revoke your immigrant status and you will be turned away.
