Dependent Tier 2 Visa application processing delayed!

Hi All,

I had applied on 3rd August 2016 for a within UK postal service dependent visa application for my wife, it was mentioned as 8 weeks processing time and since we had no plans to travel till mid-November we did not mind but now it's been around 11 weeks and no response.
Every time we call the visa helpline number "0300 123 2241" we are just told the same thing "There is nothing you can do but wait and even if we are over the processing time you will have to wait till you hear from us". Is there any alternative we can do to get the processing done sooner?

We have tried raising concern with the local MP but yet to receive any reply from him.
