I hold the Jordanian nationality (so I am a non-EU citizen), and I work for the Global Corporation office in Jordan. I got a job offer from our office in Spain to move to Malaga. The reallocation process includes a new job contract and may include new responsibilities. The job includes assignments in other European countries such as France, Belgium...etc, for short periods of time, not exceeding 4 weeks.
I was told that a Spanish work permit will not allow me to travel in business trips to our clients in Europe, and that I will need to apply to a work permit in every country that I intend to visit.
I also heard about the Van Der Elst visa, which might be a solution in my case. I am wondering if Spain issues the Van Der Elst, and if yes, what's the maximum validity period of the visa? and will it be easy to renew it when expired? What documents should I provide to get that visa? and what will it entitle me to do? will I be able to work in tasks in European countries? and if yes, in which countries and for how long?
Should I apply to the visa from the Spanish embassy in Jordan, or in another department in Spain?
Could you provide me with a reference that would list the requirements and entitlements of a work permit that suits my case (Van Der Elst or the Spanish work permit)?
I did so much research before I sent this question, but I found conflicting information in different sites that I visited. I also went to the Spanish embassy 4 times and they were not cooperative at all
Thank you a lot and have a good day.
