re-entry to Ireland

Post by eliaszizou » Thu Jan 20, 2005 1:15 pm

I am an Irish citizen presently in china on a three month visa. I came here with my girlfriend who is a chinese national. We were married at the begining of this month. She had been studying in Ireland since '98 but in christmas '03 she hadn't gotten her visa renewed before she was met by immigration officials. In the summer of '04 she was told there was a deportation order against her name (never received document stating so). She left of her own free will in Oct '04 with me.

Now that we are married and she is expecting my baby, are we going to be stopped from re-entering to raise our child?

Don't claim to know much about Irish immigration law but surely your wife needs to obtain another visa before attempting to travel to Ireland. She might even have a problem boarding a plane without the needed visa.

That is confirmed by :-

Suggest you contact the Irish Embassy in China ASAP. Details of location and phone number on :-
