Non-EU spousal of EU in Ireland

Post by bill » Sat Feb 02, 2008 3:41 pm

Hi All,

As many here, I'm very confused about all this,
I did read many topics, this forum is just great. I just have some points still uncleared to make the best of this.

I'm french, and we are living me and my brazilian girlfirend together in dublin for 1 year now, we plan to get married in France in July an then to come back here in Dublin to find our jobs back.
She has a valid student VISA until october 08, and I was thinking that she could apply for resident permit in Ireland.

My questions are the following:

Can she keep and renew her student Visa in October to keep working even if she applies for the resident permit after the wedding in july?

Would this allow her to work and to not fear to be deported or to have to leave the country according to the law saying that non-EU familiy memebers should leave in an another EU state before being permitted to work and stay in Ireland?

Thanks for your help here,
Bill
