Dependent VISA Query Due to Homeoffice Delays

Post by deepakgeorge » Wed Jan 19, 2005 11:23 am

I have applied for my FLR IED with my new work permit
approval letter and passport .I have got the
acknowledgement about the receipt of the same from
home office.

With the current procedures, Home Office is taking
above 3 months for FLR IED stamping. Is it possible for me to
bring my wife on dependent visa before I get the
pasport stamped?I have got the
work permit approval letter and copy of my passport
with visa stamped till Nov 20th 2004.

Can she apply for her visa from India (since she is in
india) with my passport copy, work permit
copy,acknowledgement letter form home office,marriage
certificate and her passport ?

It would be great if this query can be answered ?

I went through a similar situation a few years ago. I was lucky because the British High Commission agreed to provide my dependent with a visa even though my passport did not have a valid work permit visa stamp. It is always worth trying but remember you will lose your visa fee even if the visa is rejected. I would advise you to contact the high commission first and check with them before your wife makes an application. If you have any evidence to show that your passport is with the homeoffice awaiting visa approval that might help. All the best.

Thanks for the response..Will update in the forum about the outcome..Infact she went to VFS Bangalore and they told that is fine .. but don't know what High Commission decides ?
Is there a way to get the FLR IED stamping done on a day or on priority ,In the homeoffice website..it's mentioned that in case of emergency like travel..they might do ..but donno for this case ..?

IMHO I don't see IND treating your case as emergency. You can email IND and find out. They respond quite promptly.

On FLR(IED) Delay

Post by Tom_2005 » Fri Feb 04, 2005 10:16 am

Hi all,

I applied for FLR on Oct 1 2004 & am yet to get response back from home office though home office says it is dealing with applications on Oct 7 now. I tried to call /email with out any luck. If any one have information on current FLR status directly from HO it will be great . Any idea abt telephone/Email to contact HO to get status ob FLR.?. Those who are able to contact HO directly & got status on their applications please let me know contact details as no response frm numbers given in HO web site.

Thanks in Advance .
TOM
