Naturlaization into Ireland query

Post by marialear » Thu Feb 03, 2005 1:46 pm

Good afternoon everyone,

Just wondering if anyone out there has sucessfully gone through the Irish immigration system to get his/her Irish citizenship through naturalization? I am hoping to apply next year after my 5 year residence is fufilled.

I have all the official requirements and forms, and was just wondering what the reality was when applying? Does it really take 18+months? Apart from the specifed documention needed, does the Dept of Justice want anything else? Are there common problems/setbacks that people have encountered that may delay their application? I am trying to troubleshoot any potential problems that may occur when I apply and rectify those issues before I begin the process.

Any information that can be provided would be greatly appreciated, especially from someone with firsthand experience of the process.

Thanks in advance.

Regards, Maria
