My baby was born in the UK in October 2007, whilst my husband and I were on Ancestry Visas. We have now been granted Indefinite Leave to Remain. We are South African and have applied for our baby's SA passport.

When can we apply for my baby's british citizenship/passport? Can we do it now or do we need UK citizenship ourselves?

Does my baby need a visa in his SA passport to live in the UK?

Congrats. Your child can also now be registered as a British Citizen.

I agree with Paul absulately no problems at all, I fact I too have just register my daughter after, picking up my IRL last week.
So now we must just wait 11 months for our Nat.

You can now register your baby's UK citizenship using form MN1. When that is done, you can apply for a UK passport for the baby. Usually both are processed quite quickly.
