Another IGS/Post Study Work Visa...

Post by Wanderer » Wed Feb 06, 2008 12:48 pm

Whatever it's gonna be called!

The gf is considering applying for it next Oct when her visa runs out, but is also considering doing a Masters Degree.

Does anyone know if the rules will allow for work and study too - apparently this Masters she wants to do is only about 2hrs taught a week, what a rip off is my concern!

I can't see it being a problem, and the rules are not formulated yet, but in principle it's not outside the rules as they stand for similar visas...

The criteria to apply for IGS is that she needs to provide evidence that she has been looking for work. One she has got the visa it is expected of her to work, however, if she chooses to study part-time then I don't think that will be a problem.
