Help for a friend currently in UK

Hi all

I'm here again requesting some advice for a brazilian friend, currently in UK.
The situation is as follows:

Entered UK in 11 Nov 2006 on a tourist/visitor visa

Visa expired in 10 May 2007

Never left the country, and is now wanting to legalise his situation. What are the options available? I know there's not many possibilities, but the experts in this forum always seem to know some loophole.

Return home and apply from there - no other way unless there are really compelling reasons.

He'll have to apply under a skills based visa most likely, but we need to know more, such as;

Any in-demand skills?

Highly educated?

Any UK fiance?

Any Portuguese ancestry?

Is he married to someone resident here? Or applying for a job or student visa?

Either way, there's no option other than to return home to Brazil.
