Hi,

Does anyone happen to have a link to make an application for a defacto visa?

Has anyone here recently recieved a defacto? Is it ok to apply for it with 4 / 5 weeks left on my girlfriends student visa, we have enough documentation to prove we have lived together in a relationship for over 2 years.

Search the board, we generally call it the 'Unmarried Partner Visa' or 'UPV'

Comes up a lot.

Go to the BIA website (google bia or ind) and download the guidance notes, ur looking for form FLR(M) I think and the associated notes. It tells you all u need.

Basically 24 months living as man and wife and proof thereof in the form of 10 docs in joint names per year, or 10 each pa if not joint, or mixture of joint and single, spread as evenly as possible, and from at least five different sources.

UPV rules are generally very tight, so ur can't apply with 23 months or without the evidence as listed.

Check it tho - it's all from memory......

Can anyone help with the following:

I'm just completing the statement on the FLR (M) form to summarise how, where and when I met my girlfriend, when the relationship started and will conclude with confirmation that we intend to live together permanently etc.

Has anyone here applied for the unmarried partner visa and been successful?

If so do you happen to have a copy of your statement, more to get an idea of the format they require, the above could span several pages and it would be good to have a template to work from.
