When do I become eligible for applying for a British Citizen

Dear All
I am a doctor working in the NHS. I recently got the ILR (Long residence -10 yrs) in December 2007. I would be much obliged if someone could tell me

1) when I am eligible to apply for British Citizenship?[/list]
2) my kids were born in the UK, prior to me getting the ILR. Can I apply for their british passport now?
3) which forms should I use in the IND website?

1) In December 2008, provided you fulfill the residency requirements
2) Yes, you can register them as British citizens
3) Use the MN1 form from the BIA website to register your children as British
