On Arrival to UK

Post by pahadia » Thu Feb 14, 2008 11:27 pm

I am HSMP visa holder and will arrive UK with in next 2-3 weeks. I am wondering what formalities I have to cover once I am there...I mean do I need any sort of police registration or social security nunber ? Is there anything else to do ?

You don't need to register your address with the police or anything like that. You do need to apply for a national insurance number to work in the UK.

Whether or not you need to register with the police depends on your nationality. You`ll have to register at your local police station within 7 days or arrival if you come from the following countries...

Afghanistan, Algeria, Argentina, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Belarus, Bolivia, Brazil, China, Colombia, Cuba, Egypt, Georgia, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Moldova, Morocco, North Korea, Oman, Palestine, Peru, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Syria, Tajikistan, Tunisia, Turkey, Turkmenistan, United Arab Emirates, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Yemen
