Hm .... not impressed ... seems to me this is retrospective legislation! :-
The changes will affect all applications, including those made before 8 February which have not yet been decided. Those who applied before 8 February and have not received a decision will be allowed to choose to have their application decided under the new requirements, or to withdraw their application and receive a refund of the application fee.
That is, it affects even people who have already applied, in good faith, under the old rules.[/quote]

What if a person already working here in WHM visa more than 12 months and another 12months yet to complete..It means they should stop working immediately!!

Baskey, no I don't think the change is that harsh. You already have the visa is your passport. That entitles you to continue to work in accordance with the terms of that visa.

It is just the WHV issued now, as from today, will have different terms attached to them. Only those people will be affected ..... even if their application went in before today.

Chess/John,

Even though I don't come under this scheme since I am on a normal WP, it just worries me a bit that some of the rules in the 5 year plan are being rolled out almost immediately.

Isn't there a likely possibility that they would change the WP category as well like they have for WHS?

The actual changes to the Immigration Rules, affecting working holidaymakers, are now available on the IND website :-
