2+3 HSMP Extension

Post by HSMP_2007 » Wed Feb 20, 2008 11:19 am

I have a situation and I hope someone of you could please give some advice on it.

I had my HSMP approved in the year March 2007 and it is expires on march 2009

I have wokred contiously from the period of March 2007 to till date, this year i am planning go out from UK for 2 months. After that i will continue the new job with other company.

In this case how do i apply the HSMP extension ?
i will be having 2 months gaps in the 12 month period of income ?

I am in the same boat as yours. My FLR expires in March 09 and I am leaving the country for 2 months because of my father's illness. But I would resume the job with same company.
Thinking low is crime....

2 months gap doesnt matter if you can gain your points by the earnings in remaining 10 months

i.e, for example if you can show that you have earned above 26K in 10 months you can still claim 25 points

if you are not qualifying with that 10 months earning and suppose if you qualify for extension now with your present past earnings. You can even apply for extension now.

But act smart. apply for extension whenever you get qualified. Dont wait till its time of expiry

Thanks for reply,

i don't understand your other suggestion.
suppose if you qualify for extension now with your present past earnings. You can even apply for extension now.

You mean i can apply for the extension 12 mothns before using first year earnings (Mar2007 - Mar2008) .

TIA

Once again thanks, the information was more useful.

I think your category is - HSMP 1+3 but mine is 2+3.

Do you think it will differ ?

TIA

Hari wrote this in the previous thread : But please note. You should be ready to take the situation of granting leave from the date of application rather than date of expiry, though its hapenning is very unlikely
Can you explian this ? since my expiry is on March'2009 if i apply now i will getting extension up to 2011 or 2012 ?

TIA

don't you need a valid genuine reason to apply for extension much before the due date?
