How I obtained my British Citizenship

Post by magata » Sat Feb 23, 2008 6:34 am

I would like to share with you guys my full experience and how I got my BC

Application sent through the NCS on the 07/12/07
Received by the Home Office 10/12/07
Acknowledgement letter received 18/12/07
By coincidence I contacted them on the 21/01/08 to find out if there had been any progress and I was glad when was I told that they had made a decision on the same day. and that I should wait for correspondence from them.

Happily, I came back home from my long day of work and found that I had received 3 letters on Saturday 26/01/08 1 approval letter for my son and 1 for me but also an invitation for citizenship ceremony on the 13/01/08. However, as i need to travel soon I cancel and I arranged a private ceremony for this Thursday 31/01/08. I applied for British Passport on the same day 31/01/08. I received a letter on the 13/02/08 asking me to contact them to arrange an appointment which was allocated for the next day 14/02/08 and yesterday 22/02/08 I got a text mesage by secure delivery informing me about the delivery of what i believe is my British passport!

Once again, I would like to reemphasise and I take this opportunity to say that I appreciate the valuable advice and tips received for my applications. I owe a lot to all of you

Kind regards

Magata

Magata, We all know by now that you've got your citizenship as you've made several posts informing us about it on many threads.I therefore see no need for starting a new thread by cutting and pasting from a previous post as you have given your time line on the 'Timeline after applications' already..Many of us on this forum have got our citizenships but do not feel the need to shout from the rooftops about it. Or is it just a case of schadenfreude after the news this week about the changes to immigration rules and the subsequent anxiety many people on this forum are experiencing?

These comments are very unkind and out of line and If you feel that way is sorry for you. I was only trying to inform others of the result of my case as had not done it entirely. Main reason for pasting SOME of the comments made in my previous post was that I have regularly received a lot generous assistance and constant recommendations from the forum and therefore, I though that the least i could have done was remphasise not only my appreciation but also share my happiness with the forum and hopefully be able to assist other with the experience that i have acquired by doing my own applications.

Kind regards

Magata Have a nice day :D
