I am looking for a bit of advice about a standard visitors visa for my fiancee. I am 24 and from London, UK but have been living in Ghana for nearly 2 years with my Ghanaian partner, who I met when I came to Ghana for the first time as a volunteer nearly 3 years ago.
He applied for a visitors visa before I met him and it was rejected on the grounds that his payslips were not stamped and insufficient funds. Once I moved to Ghana in August 2015, we applied again and unfortunately it was rejected due to the lack of evidence that he'd return to Ghana. My mother had sent her bank info and house statements to prove he would be accommodated and they were happy with that. This second application was when I'd only lived in Ghana for 2 and a half months.
We have left it over a year and a half since the last application and would like to now apply again for the third time lucky! We are hoping to apply next month (June 2017) and travel in August for a 3 week holiday to meet some of my family. Since the previous application:
- He now is a director of an NGO and therefore earning a higher salary
- We rent our own flat, rather than just having a room in a property and we have paid rent on it till June 2018
- He has a larger amount of savings
- He owns a piece of land now
- I now have a job in Ghana and been with him a lot longer
- We are engaged, since December 2016
I have a few questions:
1. Do you think we have a good chance with the application this time?
2. Should we explain the two previous rejections in his cover letter?
3. Is it necessary to include a day-to-day itinerary of what we'll be doing in the UK?
4. Should I also include my bank statements, as well as his and my mothers?
5. How else can we prove that we'll definitely be coming back to Ghana after the 3 weeks?
Appreciate any help.
Thanks
