without a child

Post by salimnina » Sun Feb 24, 2008 5:38 pm

hi,
i have a friiend of mine who was detained couple days ago and is about to be deported to algeria. he's got a 2 yrs girl who the mother is keeping away from him with the intention of sending the father back to algeria, she could succeed as he is in detention center, the father has nothing to oprove on paper that she's his daughter and had to go to court to get permission to see her and it's then when the police came to arrest him, his ex partner told them as he is illegal in this country, the father has two solicitors, immigration and social, the immigration solicitor told him that he's got a good case and it would be no problem even if he's detained, now we don't know what will happen to him, is there any advice? anything i can do for him? or at least knowing what would happen to him...thanks, again he is illegal in the uk and didn't marry his partner and spent less than a year with her, she wants to get rid of him and not let him see his daughter, he's risking it to see his daughter, any advise would be very helpful

Could it be he's using the child to try and stay in the UK?

A child was born before 1 July 2006 he has no parental rights if not married to the mother.

Mother may well want to make sure there is no chance of the child being an Algerian citizen. Especially if child is a girl.
