A tad concerned

Post by alexk » Wed Feb 27, 2008 10:59 am

My wife has just had a visit with the VFS center in Jo'burg as she is up there at the moment on work.

When questioned about her sponsors employment status (i.e me) she said I was unemployed.

Apparently this means no visa for you..

I'm a trifle annoyed right now as why should my employment status here in SA have any bearing what so ever on my job prospects for the UK..

Any advice?

VFS are morons, to be ignored. They are not immigration advisors, and most of them no nothing about immigration law. What they do know is how to scare people, and how to lord it over people they don't want to help (ie everyone).

Cheers :D

I'm thinking however that maybe getting a paid expert to assist us may be the best route.

I keep getting conflicting reports as to what is required.

If you would like me to assist you, please do let me know.

I agree that it is harder for those without a solid work history, and reading your other post I see you are freelance, which can make things harder.

Even if you don't want me to help, please make sure that you use a firm in the UK who are solicitors or are regulated by the OISC.
