Hi guys, I am applying from inside the UK (currently with Tier 2 ICT) and need advise on the timing of my resignation in relation to applying for my Tier 4 visa.
- am I required to give my resignation letter before I apply for the Tier 4 or can I resign after I get the visa? For obvious reasons, I would like to resign once I know that I have been successful in getting the Tier 4.
- if I am required to resign prior to applying for Tier 4, can I apply while I'm finishing the notice period?
- what happens to my Tier 2 visa when I get the Tier 4 visa? Until when is it effective?
- assuming I will not be required to resign prior to applying for Tier 4: if I eventually get the Tier 4 visa, resign and travel abroad while I'm finishing my notice period, what visa should I be presenting to the border going back to the UK?
Many thanks.
* reason for switching to Tier 4 from Tier 2 is because I really want to focus on my studies. Also, there is high probability that my contract will not be extended
