HELP with WP + FLR(IED) sandwich??!

Dear all,

I am a student and just finished my masters. My student visa will expire on February 28th and have been recently offered a job. My employer will apply for a work permit next week. Please help me with these questions:

1. What happens if I haven’t received my WP yet and my visa expires? (also, I read on the HO website that I need to apply for a FLR(IED) AFTER my WP has been issued but BEFORE my visa expires??)

2. Although my studies finished, I will receive my official degree in March. One of the conditions for switching to a WP from a student visa is that the employee should have completed the course already. But this hasn’t happended officially yet…
Could this be a problem for my WP application?

Turn araound time for WPs is less than 5 days so you should be OK. If you havent had anything after 5 days (prior to your visa expiry) - just send in your FLR-IED application (without WP approval letter)
