Paid appeal

Post by aix » Thu Feb 10, 2005 11:38 am

Does anyone know what exactly is the procedure for making a paid appeal?

Is there a special form to fill in, or is it sufficient to state in the cover letter that this is a paid appeal for HSMP application ref no XXX?

Thanks in advance for any insights.

I've read the guidelines and, yes, there appears to be a special review request form ("HSMP Rev") that you need to fill out and submit. It's supposed to be available on their website, but I couldn't find it. Maybe if you called, they could email/fax it to you?

Hope that info helps.

I too have seen references to a form called "HSMP Rev". However, as you say, the form doesn't appear to be available for download from the official web site.

Does anyone know:
1) if the form exists
2) if it's designed for unpaid appeal, paid appeal, or both

There is no special/separate form for paid appeal available.

Paid Appeals
---------------
You just fill up the same standard HSMP form and mention your old HSMP ID allocated to you by HSMP on the form. You will send all of your documents you sent at the time of initial application + the additional documents you wish to show. Usually it takes 2 months for a paid appeal to respond these days.
There points to note are:
You can show additional documents to consolidate your existing claimed points, which were not granted by Home office.
You can show additional documents to claim the points you didn’t claimed in you initial application. Examples: - if you didn’t claimed your spouse points in your initial application you can claim by filling up the specific form section and adding document. Similarly one can claim points for distinctive achievements if not claimed initially.

Note: you are paying up because you are asking the HO to look into the additional proofs ANOTHER TIME.

For unpaid Appeal
---------------------
There is no form to fill up for un paid appeal. You can't claim any additional points you didnt claimed in your initial application, for example distinctive achievements, spouse, etc (As you cant add up new documents)
You request the unpaid Appeal by explaining why you think the decision was not made correctly on a simple cover letter mentioning your HSMP ID. Again it is taking about 2 months to get response from HO for unpaid Appeals.
