What next for EEA Family Members VISA holders?

Post by Erysyn » Mon Jun 26, 2017 10:14 pm

Hello everyone,

I applied to become a EEA Family Member in January 2016, and, was granted the 5 year EEA Visa with rights to work for five years in August 2016.

After today's news, regarding the Brexit deal for EU citizens in the UK, it is still not clear to me what would happen to my existing Visa. Will I have to re-apply for another document?, 'temporary settlement status', until I gather the requirements to reside here post-Brexit?

Or, will I be able to continue living and working in the UK, until the date stated in my current EEA VISA, without need to act on another application because simply, EEA Family member, doesn't make the cut anymore?

Nevertheless, I understand things are still up in the air. Once the 'cut-off date' is set in stone, I believe it will be more clear as to what is to come to those who must remain in the UK to look after their loved ones.

Sucks to be anyone nowadays, the way behaviour dictates morale. I came to this forum because, many, like me are in the same situation of having gone through this process of applying for EEA Family Visa, thinking it would be honoured for the document it represents and the time it allotted to be here.

Thank you in advance to those who take the time to give peace of mind to us in need, and thank you to those who take the time to negate it.

Yours truly,

Erysyn

This is already being covered and discussed in this thread:

Please don't send me PMs asking for immigration advice on posts that are on the open forum. If I haven't responded there, it's because I don't have the answer. I'm a moderator, not a legal professional.
