Transitional Arrangements for HSMP applicants outside UK

Post by atc_guy » Fri Mar 07, 2008 7:48 am

Hi Guys,

I am not clear as regards transitional arrangements for non India people who have received (or are about to receive) the initial approval leter under HSMP and have applied from outside UK.

I hope I will receive my approval letter within March and I am not sure whether I should wait until HO announces the dates for the start of Tier 1 rules for the rest of the world or attempt to apply as per old system.

Any advice welcome!

many thanks,

You can apply for EC under the old rules up to the date that they will announce for Tier 1 to be effective for the rest of the world (early summer 2008 from what I hear).

From the announced date, you will apply under the new rules. Under old rules, I think you will get 2-years LTR, but I'm not sure of the case under new rules - it could be 2 or 3 years.
