The conservatives are becoming increasingly irresponsible and desperate to get back into power. Its a pity they have a part to play in UK's political machinery. We already have the Labour patry trying to keep up with the Tories in right-wing politcs.

This annoucement will link Asian/African immigrants in the public mindset with the disease.

Does that mean that real statistics is different?

Before you get excited – I am Russian and Russia definitely has a problem with TB – it’s not like people are dying on the streets, but the level of TB is higher than it’s in Europe. I think UK has right to protect its population from deceases.

i thought most people coming on long stay visas were given health checks at ports of entry, e.g Heathrow, Gatwick though this didnt cover HIV. They definitely do have a right to protect the health of their citizens but i dont see how only targeting those coming to stay for more than 6months whilst leaving out the ones coming in on short stay visa will help. i think it is from the people who come in on visitors visa who end 'milking' the NHS by getting involved in what they are calling 'health tourism'

The TORY policy excludes people from the EU - does this mean that people from the EU dont carry disease.

I think tests should also be carried out out on embarkation to ensure that ill native Brits do not carry their diseases to other countries :(
