Can dependant Visa holder apply for FLR HSMP

Post by real13_apr » Tue Mar 25, 2008 9:41 am

Hello All,

My friend is on WORK PERMIT and his wife is in India. She recently applied for HSMP and got approval but she also applied for dependant visa.

my question is after coming to UK can she convert to HSMP on a dependant visa or she has to apply for EC from India only.

Which is the best option??
Coming to UK on a dependant visa and converting to HSMP visa in UK or
applying for EC from India.

Thanks & Regards,
RA.

I don't think that a HSMP dependant may switch to HSMP (135D - 135E) nor Tier 1 (General) highly skilled worker (Part 6A - Points-based system) in the UK. I think she would need to apply for Entry Clearance from India.

How long has her husband been on the work permit? If she is no longer his dependant, then she may not be included in his future ILR application.
