Help With Working Holiday Visa Please !!

Post by wayneo » Tue Mar 25, 2008 7:43 pm

Hi

i need a little help here as im going a little loco over this

i recently had a stupid friend who came up with the drunken idea of helping ourselved to some beer from behind a bar whilst out one night
i being a sheep followed (stupidly i know)

i subsiquently got caught and the police gave me a caution for (burglary) believe it or not, when you are trespassing behind a bar it is burglary

i am absoloutely devistated about this as i was planning to immigrate in jan 09

what is was wondering is if anybody knows what my chances of securing a working visa are!

one point which may be my saviour is that when i was young i was allways known by my fathers surname which lets say was smith

and this is the name the police have for me!

although my name legaly has allways been my mums maiden name as they where not married so lets say that is jones

i have a national insurance card which says Smith on it, although that is the only thing linking me to that name

does anybody think applying in Jones and not mentioning this record would be a good idea, not so sure if im keen on it though

any help is greatly appreciated

thanks in advance =)

.

You duplicated this post in the Australia section. I responded there, and I urge you to read it.

Please indicate which country you committed the offense in, and it might help if you tell us which country you are from. Then we can focus the discussion a bit more appropriately.

And, what Wanderer said. You did something a tad bit dense .. don't turn it into a true stupidity. It will haunt you for many years.

Much better strategy to get those charges reduced.

See my other reply.

Well, I would say that if the police do not have your legal name (the name in your passport) then you're off the hook. Simple as. Good thinking not giving your legal name.
In a few years time we'll look back on immigration control like we look back on American prohibition in the thirties - futile and counter-productive.
