Need advice for ILR

Post by edrelle » Sun Mar 30, 2008 9:39 pm

Good day to all.

Hi as I posted here before that I am applying for my ILR this coming Nov 2008. I forgot to mention that when I arrive here in Nov 2003 I was employed (by A company) with a 2 years work permit. In Oct 2005 when I renew my contract we had a new company transition (company B) and I able to get a 5 year extension with the new company.

Since 2003 till now i am still working with them. Do you think it wont affect my ILR?

Thanks

Hello,

Please clarify whether it was a merge of the old company by a new company or you were posted to a different brach with different job ?

As long as you got the leave to remain at the same time, I cannot see any reason why it would effect getting ILR. Please let us know if there is anything else.

IMMIGRATION LAWYER, I cannot see the difference it would make if it was a technical change, extension or a change of employment application. It could not be a technical change anyway, otherwise it would be until a certain date, and less than five years.

Are you an overseas lawyer & regulated in the UK? Everyone else who has said they are a legal person on here has given their details. Lawyer is an unusual term to call yourself. I would have expected solicitor or OISC representative. I note you put your location as the UK.

hi paperpusher. as my ILR application getting nearer and nearer the more i feel nervous bec i really want to settle here and my family.

I am planning to apply in HO personally for my ILR. I live in North Yorkshire what HO near me should I apply? And is it true that if you apply personally if ur application is unsuccessful you don't need to pay?

thanks

There is a preliminary document checking counter at the PEOs. If you don't have the right documents, they will turn you away. Past that point, you pay and won't get any money back if you're refused.

Check the BIA website for the nearest PEO.
