Righty ho... I am back after a long time with some questions on OCI this time around...

I read that one must now also submit letter from employer confirming job details etc... On the website, it does not say if the letter has to be dated in past month or something. Also, does employment contract suffice to meet this need?

Yeah, i was turned back for my appointment as i didn't carry my employer's letter.

What about those people who are not employed at present or worked many years ago? Can they write Unemployed or what is the procedure? Any documentation from last employment many years ago? Unemployed is enough?

Mine - under process.

All 3 applications (as a family application) were submitted on 25th Sep 2017.
Any suggestions as why mine (main applicant i can say) is not processed yet ?

I heard from my friend that sometime they process the main applicant only if other family members applications are completed, is that true? if so what is called completion ? I have already collected my family's OCI's last week (3rd Nov 2017).

1)How many days it takes after submitting OCI application to get status on OCI online enquiry website?

2 days have passed since I submitted my application to VFS center but all I get is no record found on OCI website.

2) Do we get SMS / Email for every stage like Application under Process, Printing status, deposit passport at VFS office or this information is only supposed to get from OCI status enquiry website?
