Moving 200k in parts to UK

Post by me0912 » Mon Jan 01, 2018 4:09 pm

Hi,

I have recently received UK tier 1E Visa on the basis of 200k from outside uk.
Now i have moved to UK but during the 3 years and 4 months time I might not need
the 200k investment amount at once and I am planning to move the funds on certain stages
of my business development in the UK.

Lets say 80k in the start from my personal account to my UK business account. After 6 months I will bring
40K and then in the second year I will move the remaining investment amount in 2 parts.

Will it be a problem at the time of extension? or are we supposed to move 200k in one go.?

Also, Employees wage, rent, business bill will be considered as investment.

Thanks.

You can make your investment in any manner that you please. There is no requirement to invest it all together.
But remember that you should have access to that 200K all the time until you make the investment. So, if HO asks, you will need to be able to prove that the money has remained with you and available at all times.

Investment must be proved (at the time of extension) as money in cash transferred from your personal account to your business. It is not about spending money, it is about investing it into your business. How the business spend the money is a different matter altogether.

Thanks for your swift reply.

So, That means 200k in my personal account of my home country. I moved 80k to UK personal account, then next year I moved 50k from my country to my personal account. So at the time of extension I have to show my UK Business bank statement + My country Personal account statement for 3 years to show that the funds were not used for any other work and remained available at all times.

Sorry to ask again but just want to be clear on this to take things properly from start.

To make it more clear to understand.
My scenario is that I will move around
100k in two parts in first year from my country to Uk but the remaining 100k in my
Personal bank acc in my country will be used for
Another local business in my home country.

I will then sell one of my property back home in the second year and will move the remaining funds by the end of second year with that property sale amount to complete 200k investment target.

At the time of extension, i will invest complete 200k into the business or atleast will show invested plus available funds (in business acc) = 200k

So, during three years four month visa, i will have 100k and will generate 100k later to complete 200k.

Pg 19 of the guidance has this:

46. Where you are seeking to be awarded points on the basis of access to funds, we may ask you to demonstrate that the funds you have used to apply remain available to you beyond the date of your application. The funds must continue to be available to you until they are invested in a business or businesses, or spent for the purposes of your business or businesses.

You don't need to provide the evidence unless HO asks you.

But if you are asked and you can't show it, then your leave may be curtailed.

So up to you whether you want to take the risk or not.
